Today, with the processes of globalization, the discipline of international relations has become more significant. The relations between states appear increasingly multi-dimensional, therefore, directly or indirectly effects individuals. The relations between states do not only posses a State-based dimension, but also carry civic aspects. Within that context, the research and teaching activities in the area of international relations increased its importance.

The department aims to emphasise the importance of the relations between the domestic and international policy through a focus on the judicial, historical and social aspects of these relations. Focusing on various aspects related to the current development in international relations, our department comprises International Relations, Political Science, Political History and International Law divisions. Within this programme, different approaches are presented in order to enable the students to grasp and investigate various aspects of the complexity of international relations.

The department offers 30% of its courses in English. In that sense, alongside the English preparation year, students are ensured to obtain sufficient English language skills with various courses in English. The department has approximately 500 students that can apply for Erasmus exchange programme and double-major programme and for various scholarship opportunities.
